Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 60 ml lemon juice
  • 50 g granulated sugar (for compote)
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 67 g granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 10 ml vanilla extract
  • 1.252.5 ml almond extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into six equal rectangles and arrange on the prepared tray, baking for 10–15 minutes until golden.
  3. Place sliced strawberries in a saucepan with sugar and lemon juice; cook over medium heat, mashing berries until sauce thickens (15-20 minutes).
  4. Combine cream cheese and sugar in a bowl and mix with an electric mixer until smooth; add heavy cream, blending until fluffy.
  5. Allow the pastries to cool, then halve them. Spread cream cheese filling on the bottom half and layer with sliced strawberries and compote.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar before serving for a beautiful finish.
