Description

A delicious and creamy stuffed seafood bread bowl filled with shrimp, crab, and scallops in a cheesy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round crusty bread loaf (such as sourdough or artisan style)
  • 225 grams peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 120 grams crab meat
  • 120 grams scallops
  • 28 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 120 milliliters heavy cream
  • 56 grams cream cheese
  • 60 milliliters grated Parmesan cheese
  • 120 milliliters shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 15 milliliters lemon juice
  • 8 grams chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
  2. Slice off the top of the bread loaf and hollow out the interior, reserving the bread. Toast the hollowed loaf in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly crisp.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and shallot; sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Add shrimp and scallops to the skillet, cooking until just opaque. Incorporate the crab meat and heat until warmed through.
  5. Reduce heat. Pour in heavy cream, then add cream cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Stir in half of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, mixing until just melted.
  7. Fill the toasted bread bowl with the seafood and sauce mixture. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan and mozzarella over the top.
  8. Place the filled bread bowl on a baking tray and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish generously with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the seafood according to your preference.
  • For an extra kick, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This dish is best served fresh from the oven.
