Description

A fun and easy way to make super bouncy balls at home using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon borax powder
  • 2 tablespoons white school glue
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Two small bowls
  • A spoon or craft stick

Instructions

  1. In the first bowl, pour the warm water and stir in the borax until dissolved.
  2. In the second bowl, mix glue, cornstarch, and a few drops of food coloring (if using).
  3. Pour approximately 1 tablespoon of the borax solution into the glue mixture and stir quickly. You’ll see it start to thicken.
  4. As it firms, take it out and roll/squeeze between your palms to form a ball. After about 30 seconds, you’ll get a proper little bouncy ball.
  5. Once it’s no longer sticky and feels ball-like, test by dropping it on a hard surface. If done well, it should bounce.

Notes

  • Make sure the water is warm but not hot to help dissolve the borax.
  • Experiment with different food coloring to create various ball colors.
