Description
Create a unique and personalized Thumbprint Flower Candle Holder, perfect for gifting!
Ingredients
- Pint-sized mason jar
- Acrylic paint (various colors)
- Paintbrush
- Mod Podge
- Twine or ribbon
- Tea light or candle
Instructions
- Start by gathering all your materials on a clean working surface.
- Take the pint-sized mason jar and make sure it is clean and dry.
- Place yellow paint on your child’s thumb. Use it to make small dots on the mason jar to represent the centers of flowers.
- After the yellow dots are made, clean your child’s thumb and let them use different colors of paint to create flower petals around the yellow dots. They can do this by pressing their thumb or fingers against the jar in various petal shapes.
- Once all the paintwork is done, allow the painted mason jar to dry completely. This might take a few hours depending on the amount of paint used.
- After the paint is dry, use a clean paintbrush to apply a generous layer of Mod Podge over the entire surface of the jar. This will seal the paint and give it a nice glossy finish.
- While the Mod Podge is still wet, take twine or ribbon and wrap it around the neck of the jar. Tie it into a neat bow for an added decorative touch.
- Finally, place a tea light or candle in the bottom of the mason jar. Your beautiful candle holder is now complete and ready to be gifted!
Notes
- You can personalize the flower designs by using different shapes or even adding small leaves around the flowers with green paint.
- Consider using glow-in-the-dark paint for the dots and petals to create a fun evening effect when the candle is lit.
