Ingredients

- 2 cups whole milk or unsweetened plant-based milk
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of ground cardamom
- 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and cardamom. Whisk thoroughly.
- Heat the mixture gently over medium-low heat until steaming (about 5 to 7 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup, coconut oil or ghee, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- If using fresh ginger, strain the milk through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
- Pour into serving mugs and serve warm.
Notes
This drink can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat and enjoy!
