Description

A soothing beverage made with turmeric, ginger, and spices, perfect for warming your body and soul.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk or unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of ground cardamom
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and cardamom. Whisk thoroughly.
  2. Heat the mixture gently over medium-low heat until steaming (about 5 to 7 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup, coconut oil or ghee, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  4. If using fresh ginger, strain the milk through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
  5. Pour into serving mugs and serve warm.

Notes

This drink can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat and enjoy!
