Description

If you’re looking for an easy, festive, crowd-pleasing snack to add to your holiday table (or sneak by the handful when no one’s looking), say hello to White Chocolate Trash Snack Mix — the chaotic, crunchy, sweet-and-salty miracle that somehow disappears faster than you can make it.

Ingredients

2 cups Corn Chex cereal

2 cups Cheerios cereal

2 cups mini pretzel twists

1 cup dry roasted salted peanuts

2 to 2½ cups M&M’s candies (2 cups in mix, ½ cup as garnish)

24 ounces vanilla almond bark (or white candy coating)

Optional:

Holiday M&M’s or sprinkles for decoration

Wax or parchment paper for easy clean-up

Substitutions & Additions:

Swap peanuts for cashews, almonds, or a nut-free trail mix

Use gluten-free pretzels or cereal for allergy-friendly versions

Add mini marshmallows, mini Oreos, or toffee bits

Use white chocolate chips + coconut oil if you don’t have almond bark (more on that below)

Instructions

  1. Prep your space:

    • Line a large 18×13-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

    • Set it aside — you’ll need it ready for the coated mix.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients:

    • In a very large mixing bowl (6-quart or larger), combine:

      • 2 cups Corn Chex

      • 2 cups Cheerios

      • 2 cups mini pretzels

      • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts

      • 2 cups M&M’s

    • Stir gently to combine evenly.

  3. Melt the almond bark:

    • Place the 24 ounces of almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl.

    • Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until melted and smooth.

  4. Combine with the mix:

    • Pour melted almond bark over the cereal mixture.

    • Quickly and gently fold everything together with a spatula until well coated.

  5. Spread and top:

    • Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.

    • Spread into an even layer.

    • Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup M&M’s over the top for a colorful finish.

  6. Let it set:

    • Leave at room temperature for 1 hour, or until completely hardened.

  7. Break and store:

    • Once hardened, break into bite-sized clusters.

    • Transfer to a bowl for serving or into bags/jars for gifting.
