Description

Worms in Dirt Edible Craft is a fun and creative treat for kids, combining colorful cereal and edible decorations to resemble worms in dirt.

Ingredients

  • Colorful Fruit O’s cereal
  • Chenille stems
  • Black sparkle gel icing
  • Finely crushed chocolate cookies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering your ingredients. Ensure you have a clean workspace to craft your worms.
  2. For large worms, take one chenille stem. If you want smaller worms, simply cut a chenille stem in half using scissors.
  3. Fold over one end of the chenille stem to create a closed loop. This will help keep your worms tidy and prevent the cereal from falling off.
  4. Begin threading the colorful Fruit O’s cereal onto the open end of the chenille stem. Continue until the stem is nearly full, leaving a little space for shaping.
  5. Once you’re satisfied with the amount of cereal on the stem, pinch and fold it to create a worm-like shape. Adjust the cereal as needed to ensure it’s snug and secure.
  6. Use the black sparkle gel icing to add two small dots on one end of the worm to create cute little eyes.
  7. If you want to make it extra fun, sprinkle finely crushed chocolate cookies on a plate to mimic dirt. Place your crafted worms on top of the ‘dirt’ and enjoy your edible art!

Notes

  • Experiment with different types of cereal to create various worm colors and textures.
  • Get creative with the decorations by adding small candies or edible eyes instead of icing.
  • Have fun with your crafting!
