Description

Delightful sugar cookie bars topped with festive sprinkles, perfect for summer celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red and blue sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy—about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Spread the dough into the prepared baking dish evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
  9. Dress with vibrant red and blue sprinkles before serving!

Notes

For make-ahead, prepare dough the day prior and chill. These bars can also be made in an air fryer with adjusted cooking time.
