Description

A delightful and moist cake made with ripe bananas and crunchy walnuts, topped with luscious whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup walnut pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the mashed bananas.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the walnut pieces evenly throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  11. Slice the cake in half horizontally and spread half of the whipped cream on the bottom layer.
  12. Place the top layer back on and spread the remaining whipped cream on top.
  13. Serve and enjoy your cake!
