Description

A delightful layered dessert featuring a buttery vanilla wafer crust, creamy dulce de leche, light whipped cream, and fresh berries for a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups (334g) vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 3 tbsp (39g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (112g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup (58g) powdered sugar
  • 13.4 oz (380g) dulce de leche
  • 16 oz (452g) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (104g) sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup (58g) powdered sugar
  • 2 cups (260g) chopped berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup (29g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (148°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick spray.
  2. Stir together the vanilla wafer crumbs and sugar in a mixing bowl. Pour in the melted butter and combine.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 8 minutes and cool in the refrigerator.
  4. Add heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar to a large mixing bowl. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold one-third of the whipped cream into the dulce de leche, then fold in the remaining whipped cream until smooth.
  6. Pour the dulce de leche mixture over the cooled crust and refrigerate.
  7. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract together in another bowl until smooth. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then fold into the cream cheese mixture along with the chopped berries.
  8. Spread the cream layer over the dulce de leche layer and chill again.
  9. Whip together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Spread over the cream layer.
  10. Chill until set, ideally overnight. Top with remaining chopped berries before serving.

Notes

Prepare this dessert up to two days in advance for the best flavor. Be cautious not to overmix the whipped cream to maintain a light texture.
