Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine 3/4 cup warm water, 1 packet active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar in a resealable plastic bag. Seal the bag and let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon olive oil to the bag. Seal it tight and knead the bag gently for 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the bag in a warm spot and let it rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the last few minutes of rising.
  5. Remove the dough from the bag onto a floured surface and shape it into a loaf. Transfer to a greased loaf pan.
  6. Let the shaped loaf rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  8. Cool the loaf in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, prepare the dough in advance and let it rise in the fridge overnight. To use an air fryer, preheat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
