- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Melt the basics: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter and brown sugar, stirring until fully blended.
- Bring to a boil: Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil, then let it bubble undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes.
- Finish the toffee: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Spread the toffee: Pour the hot toffee onto your prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly with the spatula.
- Press in pecans: Generously sprinkle the chopped pecans over the toffee, pressing them down lightly.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
