Description

A luxurious sweet treat combining buttery toffee, crunchy pecans, and silky chocolate in a delightful bark.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Melt the basics: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the unsalted butter and brown sugar, stirring until fully blended.
  3. Bring to a boil: Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil, then let it bubble undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Finish the toffee: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Spread the toffee: Pour the hot toffee onto your prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly with the spatula.
  6. Press in pecans: Generously sprinkle the chopped pecans over the toffee, pressing them down lightly.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
  8. Add chocolate: Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the top.
  9. Let it cool: Allow the bark to cool completely at room temperature.
  10. Enjoy your butter pecan toffee bark once set!

Notes

For best results, prepare the bark a day in advance and store in an airtight container. Optionally, you can sprinkle flaky sea salt on top for added flavor.
