Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. Make the Dough: Add the eggs, softened butter, vanilla extract, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until you form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and allow it to rise in a warm area until it doubles in size—around 60 minutes.
  5. Roll Out: Punch down the risen dough and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters to cut out the donuts.
