Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Fresh orange slices for garnish
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a mixing bowl until fully mixed. Press this mixture into the bottom of your springform pan.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together in another bowl until creamy and smooth.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Fold in the sour cream, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and orange zest until combined.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the center is just set but slightly jiggly.
  8. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside with the door ajar for 1 hour.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  10. Garnish with fresh orange slices and chocolate shavings before serving.
