Instructions
- Prepare the apples by slicing and coring them into uniform rings.
- Dry the rings using paper towels.
- Dredge the apple rings in the dredging flour.
- Make the batter by whisking together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients, beating the egg into the milk and vanilla before mixing into the dry ingredients.
- Batter each flour-dusted apple ring and let excess drip off.
- Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the rings in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain excess oil on paper towels.
- Toss warm rings in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
