Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients.
- Beat everything together with an electric mixer until the batter is smooth and creamy.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare the glaze while the cake bakes by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, poke holes in the top, and pour glaze over it.
- Invert the cake onto a serving platter once cooled completely.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute with a one-to-one gluten-free flour blend. You can also use a mix of butter and applesauce for a lighter cake.
