Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 12 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ cup creamy ranch dressing
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Wash and scrub the potatoes, peel them, and slice into thick strips.
  2. Boil the potatoes: Bring 1 quart of water to a boil, then steam the fries for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Coat the fries: Drizzle with olive oil and toss gently to coat.
  4. Bake until crispy: Arrange fries on a baking sheet and bake at 450°F for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk, and melt in cheddar cheese.
  6. Toss fries with Cajun seasoning and top with ranch dressing and cheese sauce.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes before boiling. You can also use an air fryer for faster results.
