Description

Delicious M&M Chocolate Fudge Oatmeal Bars that combine chewy oats, rich chocolate, and colorful M&M candies for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for the fudge)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Press half of the oatmeal mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  6. Combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Pour the fudge layer over the oatmeal crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Crumble the remaining oatmeal mixture evenly over the fudge layer.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top layer is golden brown. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

These bars can be frozen for up to three months. You can also customize them by adding nuts or different types of chocolate. Allow them to cool completely before slicing for best results.
