Description

A delightful blend of sweet and savory, this Monte Cristo Casserole combines croissants, ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese for a nostalgic and comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup cooked turkey, diced
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Jam (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Layer half of the torn croissants in the greased baking dish.
  4. Add the diced ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese over the croissant layer.
  5. Pour half of the egg mixture over the layers.
  6. Add the remaining croissants on top and pour the rest of the egg mixture over everything.
  7. Let the casserole sit for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Bake for about 45-50 minutes until the top is golden and set.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with warm jam.

Notes

Assemble the casserole the night before and store it in the refrigerator for richer flavors.
