A decadent chocolate cake filled with juicy strawberries and a rich cream cheese layer, perfect for any celebration.

- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch pan generously.
- Mix the batter: In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Beat until smooth, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Prepare the filling: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until creamy and smooth.
- Layer the cake: Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the greased pan.
- Add the filling: Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the batter and gently swirl. Add chopped strawberries, and sprinkle with optional coconut, nuts, or chocolate chips.
- Top it off: Pour the remaining chocolate cake batter over everything.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream.
Notes
Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for a month in individual portions.
