Description

Experience the art of sushi making with fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors that create delightful roll creations, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 4 nori sheets
  • Fresh fish (e.g., salmon, tuna)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cucumber
  • Soy sauce
  • Wasabi
  • Pickled ginger

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice: Rinse 2 cups of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions, then let it cool slightly while preparing other ingredients. Add a tablespoon of rice vinegar for that signature sushi flavor.
  2. Prepare the nori: Lay a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on the bamboo mat.
  3. Spread the rice: With wet hands, take a handful of sushi rice and spread it evenly over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
  4. Layer the fillings: Place thin slices of fresh fish, avocado, and cucumber in a line across the center of the rice.
  5. Start rolling: Use the mat to gently roll the nori away from you, pressing it tightly as you go. Keep a steady hand and make sure the filling stays in place.
  6. Slice the sushi roll: With a sharp knife, slice the roll into bite-sized pieces. Use a wet knife to prevent sticking.
  7. Prepare sashimi: For sashimi, delicately slice fresh fish into thin pieces. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side for dipping.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with your favorite ingredients and add unique flavors. Ensure to use sushi-grade fish for safety.
