Description

A decadent cheesecake that combines flavors of rich dark chocolate with creamy cream cheese for a luxurious dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease your 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Prepare the crust by combining chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter, then pressing into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Mix the cheesecake filling by beating cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Incorporate the eggs, adding one at a time and mixing thoroughly.
  5. Add the melted dark chocolate, blending until uniform.
  6. Finish with sour cream, heavy cream, and cocoa powder, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the filling over the prepared crust.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes until the center is set but jiggles slightly.
  9. Let cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Make ahead up to three days in advance. This cheesecake can also be frozen in slices for up to two months.
